Meet the Artist

Hi, I'm Atheeni! I'm the sole artist and maker behind Sweet Kiwi & Co. You might know me from my YouTube channel, Atheeni Makes Stuff, or from my costume and sewing adventures over on Instagram.

Currently, I'm a one woman show. I design, hand make, and package all the products that I sell here on this shop. At the moment I am focusing on creating beautiful and unique products to help other pin addicts like myself share and store their gorgeous pin and patch collections. One day though, I hope to expand my offering and branch out into producing sustainable slow fashion apparel items. I'm always asked about my costume and clothing items that I sew and I hope that one day I can find enough of an audience that will value the type of clothing I want to make so that I can turn my passion for clothing into a sustainable business. Until then, I'm focusing on making small home décor items to help me grow my brand.

I've been collecting pins, badges, buttons, and patches for YEARS and will definitely continue to do so as long as other amazingly talented artists keep making beautiful things for me to collect. But of course, with that comes the need to store and display all my pretty shinies, and I definitely know I'm not the only one struggling with this. I decided to use my sewing and 3d modeling skills to help solve a problem for a growing niche of people. Looking at my pin collection brings me so much joy and I love using pins as a way to express myself and to decorate my space. Once I figured out a solution that worked for me I immediately knew I had to share it with others. It's so fun to help people turn their pin and patch collections into beautiful artistic show pieces that they can use to decorate their spaces.

All of my banners are sewn in small batches and I source fabrics from smaller indie shops as well as larger, but local businesses. Sometimes, I'm even lucky enough to find beautiful fabrics that I can upcycle from thrift stores and help turn an old used cloth into something beautiful again. This type of sourcing does mean that my banners will not always be restocked. Once I use up a material, and can no longer source it from my suppliers that means that the banner will be retired. So please keep that in mind when shopping my fabric banners.

I also currently design and produce all my pin frames myself. I have a Prusa 3D printer that I use to 3d print all of my own original pin frame designs and I use a Canadian manufactured PLA plastic filament for all my frames. All pin frame designs are my own original works that I've spend a lot of time to develop and prototype.

If you'd like to keep up on what I'm doing in the shop, definitely check out @sweetkiwico over on Instagram, and if you're interested in following along for sewing, costume, and apparel adventures feel free to check out my YouTube channel.
